Originally from Romania, Dr. Velicu’s journey to orthodontics has been one of perseverance and excellence. She graduated from Carol Davila University, the most prestigious school in the country, in the top 5% of her class. After graduation, she immigrated to the United States in 2018 to pursue advanced training and earned her Master’s degree and completed her orthodontic residency at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), one of the nation’s most prestigious programs, where she served as a chief resident. Since 2021, she has been transforming smiles in Dallas, bringing cutting-edge techniques and a personalized approach to every patient she treats.
Dr. Velicu is not just a skilled orthodontist—she is a leader in her field. She serves as a Director at the Texas Association of Orthodontists (TAO), helping shape the future of orthodontic care in the state. Her contributions to the profession and her community have earned her international recognition, including being named one of JCI Romania’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) in 2024—an honor awarded to professionals who are driving positive change in their industries and beyond. Dr. Velicu was also inducted in the Forbes 30u30 class of 2021, recognizing her involvement in groundbreaking research against osteoporosis and potential new treatments against this very common condition.
